Why Can't Photovoltaic Cables Be Used at Home?

1. Special performance characteristics of photovoltaic cables

Photovoltaic cables are cables used to connect solar power generation equipment and power grids. They are characterized by the use of special materials and process designs, can withstand strong solar radiation and high temperature environments, and have special properties such as dustproof, waterproof, moisture-proof, heat-resistant, cold-resistant and UV-resistant.

Photovoltaic cables are specially designed for solar power generation systems and are usually used to connect photovoltaic panels and electronic controllers or between electronic controllers and inverters. Its metal conductors are usually made of copper wire or copper foil, and the insulating materials are usually made of environmentally friendly materials.

2. Cannot be used directly for power supply of household appliances

Photovoltaic cables are cables used in photovoltaic power generation systems and are not suitable for direct power supply of household appliances. Household appliances require 220V AC power, while the DC power generated by solar power cannot be directly supplied to household appliances. The DC power needs to be converted into AC power through an inverter so that household appliances can be used normally.

At the same time, the requirements of household appliances for cables are different from those of photovoltaic cables. The cables required for household appliances generally require properties such as softness, wear resistance, high temperature resistance, and flame retardancy, while photovoltaic cables need to have high weather resistance and UV resistance. The design and use environment of these two types of cables are different and they cannot be directly interchangeable.
